Car history: |
Factory A/C and Power Windows. This is a fairly high-optioned example of a very desirable car. This Corvette represents the last of the chrome bumper cars with the removable rear glass. Most of the components are intact, but the engine is not original. This Corvette was built with the standard 350 V-8, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, leather seats and power windows. It is also a "Factory Red" car with Black leather, the best color combination. I am selling this Corvette for a bank that repossessed it last month. I work for Red Top Auto Auction in Cartersville, GA. We are the ones who sponsor Kyle Busch in the #51 truck of the Camping World series in NASCAR. I am not sure if the Bank is holding a title or not. Cars in Georgia that are older than 1986 do not require a title and are sold with a Bill-of-Sale only. I put this car on a lift and inspected the chassis and it is solid. This car was disassembled and painted, but that is about as far as they got before the bank repossessed it. The front end has been modified with a kit to make it appear as a later-model car. The added components were riveted to the original panels, but the nose was removed to accomodate the kit. The headlight assemblies are original and are intact. The original hood and bumpers are long gone, but the rest of the trim pieces are present. I have no idea as to the mechanical condtion of the car. Bid the Corvette with the assumption that the brakes, steering, transmission and rear-end all need rebuilding. If they don't, you are ahead of the game! I've taken pictures of the chassis, the interior, the body, engine compartment and all of the parts that are included. It appears that all of the T-Top stainless trim and soft trim are present, including the A-pillar trim and kick panels. The rear deck vents, door handles and marker light are all there. The dash is complete including all of the gauges and HVAC ducting and control switch unit. The wiper control and upper air vents are there, as well as the console and trim. The seats appear to be from a later model Corvette, perhaps circa 1977-78? All of the glass is intact including the removable rear window. The rear storage compartment has all three access doors and the hinged storage tray for the rear window. The T-Tops have all of their trim and molded headliner. The door panels have the wood grain trim and the carpet pieces that are still present are the deep-cut pile, indicating the car has the Custom (leather) interior trim? There are also several packages of weather stripping included. The Trim Tag affixed to the left A pillar indicate the Trim to be 404 and the Paint is 972. The Build Date is I28. This is an ambitious project, and not for the feint of heart. 102,690 miles. March 22, 2009. |
